Week 12: Exchange Miracles!

We had exchanges this past week and I went with Sister Anderson to visit a less-active who never seems to be home, and as we were knocking on her door the guy who lives in the apartment right across from hers opened his door because he thought that we were knocking on it. So, we turned and started talking to him instead, and we taught him about the Restoration and gave him a Book of Mormon and he said he wanted to read it and he has been! It's so cool how the Lord is able to work in ways we never even expect! This guy (Jose) invited us in as we talked to him, and it turns out his mom- who was also there and lives with him- was baptized at 9 years old and hasn't been active in the church since then, and we don't have her records or anything! So, now we can help transfer them and get all of that figured out and help her to come back to church and help them center their lives on Christ and His everlasting gospel, and it was just such a miracle getting a glimpse of the mysteries of God and how wonderful He is! He has a plan, and it's perfect, so trust Him and all things will work out. :)

We also were able to schedule times for next week to start meeting with two different young women who have been coming to church with their friends and are interested in learning more, and it's so cool to see that sometimes the missionaries are able to find people according to God's will and things work out unexpectedly, like with Jose. But- even more of the time- the members who live near these people of other faiths are able to extend invitations to them to come and to know their Savior better and as they just allow themselves to be extensions of His love all over the earth they are the ones who help their friends in their conversion process the most. We, as missionaries, come and go from area to area and can never have what you, as members, have with those children of God who live near you: a lasting relationship of service and love and the ability to be an example to them throughout your lives.

So, find ways to help those of Heavenly Father's children that He put in your lives who are all around you to come unto their Savior and feel of His love for themselves. They are His sheep too and He numbereth them and is calling after them, and many of them are looking for Him and His ways and they "wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they run to and fro to seek the word of the Lord, and they [cannot] find it," (Amos 8:12) so it's our duty to help them to find the restored gospel of Jesus Christ! To share the joy and peace of this gospel to all, so they can taste of the sweetness of it and glorify their God which is in heaven. 😊

Keep on being angels to those around you this coming week!

Love you all,
Sister Wilcox
