Week 39: There Must Be Somethig In The Water

No, there were no baptisms this week- sorry! I know, I know- the title was a bit misleading.BUT
I put it because I think there's something in the water that President's been drinking because starting this transfer he made me a sister training leader.. Pres wut?
But all of the Sisters here are super cool and so I'm excited to get to know them all better and see how they'll change my perspective on things so we can all learn and grow together! It'll be fun. πŸ˜Š

Anyways, like I said last week, I am staying in Nampa for another 6 weeks (at least) and my new companion is named Sister Sanders! I pick her up later today and so we aren't together quite yet, but we went on exchanges before and she's super chill so it'll be a fun transfer.

I drop off Sister Moa at the mission home tonight and it makes me so sad!! I'm going to miss her a lot- but, I'm excited for her to start moving on with life.. I suppose. πŸ˜

Also, I saw my MTC teacher Sister Seibach at church this weekend! Her family is in one of the wards we cover- so that was fun, too.
Anyways, this week will be stressful and sad, but still good as "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me." Philippians 4:13

Love you all! Happy 20th birthday to me this Saturday (hint, hint packages are always appreciated πŸ˜πŸ˜‰)....
Sorry this week's shorter and quite concise, but I'm hungry so..

Love,
Sister Wilcox

Week 38: Last Week This Transfer

Sorry for the lame title but I don't have a lot of time!
So, because Sister Moa is going home next Wednesday (😣😒😭) our pday is actually today, so that is why I'm emailing today instead of Monday, and will email again next Tuesday because that's when transfers are! I know, it's all so crazy, right?

Anyways, in interviews President basically told me I'm staying another transfer (or, in other words, 6 weeks) in Nampa, so.... 7 and a half months here I come!! At least I was moved across the street to another building halfway.. πŸ˜…πŸ˜‚

Other than that, I'm excited to see what's happening- we will find out Saturday. πŸ˜πŸ‘πŸ‘

This past week we had to reschedule Carlee's baptism- so it'll probably be in June now, along with another boy we started teaching named Tavin. They are from different families, but they're both so cute! I love getting to know and to help people of all different circumstances and stages of life throughout my mission! It's such a blessing to be able to help others grow in their faith in Jesus Christ, and there's no place I'd rather be than here right now! πŸ˜ŠπŸ€—

Anyways, I love you all and I hope you are constantly looking for and able to find ways that you can reach out to others just in your everyday life so that they can feel their Saviors love and you can have the blessing of being a part of that preparation that the Lord is doing on their hearts to come unto Him!
Alma 16:16-17πŸ’›

Have a great weekend!

Sister Wilcox

Week 36: A crazy week

This week has been so crazy.. πŸ˜΄

So, the Subienos who were the family in my last area on date to be baptized have to get married still, so their baptism date has apparently been put on hold and is TBD for the time being.. which is sad- especially becasue I hear updates about it in our district meeting (because I'm still in the same district just across the street in the stake center πŸ˜Œ), but all is well- the Lord has a plan for them and His timing is perfect. πŸ‘

And Aidan is getting baptized still this weekend and so we're super excited about that, and he bore his testimony in fast and testimony meeting this past Sunday on how much the Book of Mormon and the gospel has already blessed his life! I wanted to cry- he's so sweet and innocent and ready to progress even more in his relationship with his Savior! And his mom still wants to be baptized too once her legal situation is worked out. So, lots of progress there!

Also, the Patricka family, whose daughter Carly has been coming to church activities for a while now, (who we met and invited to take the discussions at a ward activity) we have been teaching and they've been progressing and Carly is on date to be baptized May 26! We're hoping that Jackie, her mom, will hopefully join her as she continues studying and praying about the Book of Mormon for herself, and eventually Kyle, her dad, will too! We'll see- so far they've been reading everything we've invited them to in the Book of Mormon (all of 1 Nephi in one weekend πŸ˜„πŸ™Œ) so it looks good so far. Plus, it's true!- so, if their hearts are prepared at this time, it'll happen. πŸ˜‰

So that part of the week was good. We also had exchanges again (always), which was crazy but a lot of fun and really good to get to know some of the other Sisters even more and help them and learn from them and just grow together! πŸ˜³ lol

AND, Sister Tuku (πŸ’›πŸ˜ love her) has appendicitis!! So we stayed at the ER until like 3am last night with her and her companion (they were our roommates until just last week) and they did biopsies and stuff to make sure it's appendicitis and are seeing what surgery they need to do to save/fix her (our mission nurse thought it was a kidney stone so she just sat at home in pain for a week now.. πŸ€•). So, Sister Moa stayed with her in the hospital and Sister Bentley (her companion) and I slept at our house, and it has just been a lot of back and forth since then.

AND, next week we have a ton of lessons, 2 more exchanges, a baptism, the other sisters (Sister Bentely and Tuku- after she's released from the hospital eventually) are going to move in with us, and it's my sister's (@Sister Aurelia Wilcox πŸ˜‡) last week as a missionary, too!

So, here comes death. RIP me and basically all of us. I feel kinda like I just ran a marathon.. is this how you felt afterwards mom? πŸ™„πŸ˜…

Anyways, have a great week! Email me and stuff. Packages are nice too. πŸ˜πŸ˜‚

Love you all,
Sister Wilcox

We're so sad we;re moving out! πŸ˜« They're the cutest and so fun!

Week 35: The Lord pours down blessings

Hi everyone!
So this week has been great! A lot has happened, our numbers are good, there's another family hopefully going to be put on BD this next week (the Patricka's are so prepared!), and we've been super busy with exchanges and everything (Sister Moa's basically everybody's STL), so life adn the work is awesome!
Anyways, I just wanted to write about how Sister Moa-Sam Fong is such a good minister! No matter what time people call or who calls her needing help/advice/someone to talk or vent to/etc, she's always willing to listen and love them and it's inspiring. I don't know how she has that much love and charity and room in her heart to care for so many people, but she does it and is still always so happy and willing to do more! She's so cool. And a great missionary!
Anyways, I'm always glad to hear all of your updates and how things are going with all of your lives, too! So, keep giving me updates to read if you have time. I appreciate all of your letters and emails and try to reply (sorry for any of the times that I don't, though).
Keep staying positive and working hard!
😊✌πŸ’›

Week 34-First week of Nampa 2

We had a really fun week this week!
Sister Moa is so fun!! And we're getting abs from how much we laugh lol jk but we should because it's a lot.. πŸ˜‚
Anyways, we live with Sister Tuku (short for Tukumoeatu- she's Samoan) and Sister Bentley, and it's so hard to go to bed on time πŸ˜‚ But it's a lot of fun. (i.e. yesterday we learned how to hula dance until like midnight πŸ˜‚). If there's one thing I'll come back from Idaho knowing how to do, hahah..

Also, we have an 11 y/o boy named Aidan on date to be baptized May 12 (the same date as the Subieno family in 20th ward, so if it all works out that's going to be a really fun day!). His mom wants to be baptized too, but we have to wait for some things to work themselves out before she can be. But, it'll happen soon enough, as they both have a lot of faith and really want to embrace the restored gospel of Jesus Christ so it can bless their lives! The dad grew up a member and came to church with the rest of the family for the first time in a while yesterday and it was cool to see them all progress together!

Also, yesterday at church I was asked to talk for 5 to 7 minutes and it was in President's ward- so that was scary.. But, he and Sister Sorensen are awesome, so it's good. As a missionary you always have to be prepared to answer any questions and share testimony and speak publicly, so thank heavens the Spirit is with us to help us, or I'd make a fool of myself all the time! πŸ˜‚πŸ™„ and even then..... πŸ˜ŒπŸ˜…

But, I'm alive and well and excited for this next transfer! It's going to be fun, and sad that Sister Moa is going home after- she's the best. But, she's become a great missionary over the past 18 months she's served and I hope I'll learn a lot from her example of how to love everyone and just go with it. πŸ˜

Have a great week!
Sister S. Wilcox
