Week 47: Names are hard to find

Writing one of these every week, you run out of titles names.. it's rough.
Anyways, this week, we put 3 people on date- the Christopherson boys and also Tavin, all for the same week in August!- and we got a new person we're teaching named Cassie (who we found "by chance"- but not really- one day when we saw their family was only part-members and they lived on the street we were walking on so we stopped by and she said she had questions and wanted to learn more!) and pretty much everyone came to church!
Mandi still is having health issues so she and Aidan missed, but the Christophersons and Tavin and his mom and Carlee (she's moving back into the ward boundaries and just came back from trek, so hopefully things pick back up with her again!) and Paige and it was awesome to have everyone show up and feel the spirit! It was just an exciting and good week!
Also, exchanges started too, so that was a lot of fun!
Anyways, here are some pictures- sorry, it's brief, but it's pday time so see ya next week!
Love,
Sister Wilcox😁👍💛

Week 46: So much happens every day.

Hello world!
So this week has been eventful, with transfers and helping the missionaries that have finished go home (we gave rides, etc and it was super sad to say goodbye! 😔☹) on Tuesday, and then picking up our new missionary on Wednesday and setting up exchanges for this next transfer, etc- but, amid all the chaos, we've had a lot of little miracles, too!

We saw one of our investigators, Betty, at Walmart when we were shopping and it turned out her son was in town so she had to cancel our appointment we had scheduled for that day, but we were able to set up another one for this weekend. So, on Saturday we went over and were able to talk with her more about the gospel of Jesus Christ and it was a good lesson. Then, we had another appointment with Jacob and Tyler, the boys whose dad told us he wants us to teach them at church last Sunday, and we were able to set a date with them that they can prepare themselves to be baptized on (August 18th)! So, that was super exciting! 😁
And it was nice for Sister Adams to be able to extend that baptismal invitation on her third day in the field- she was pretty excited (and we all are for them- they're sweet boys 😊).

Also, when you get a new missionary you take them out tracting the next day for at least an hour in our mission- so, we went and tracted President Sorensen's street (because we thought it'd be funny for him to answer and we had it all planned out with them and everything- but they had to go somewhere so they weren't home when we went sadly), and we met a man who opened the door only enough for us to hear him shout, "I know why you're hear- and I don't want it!" Then he closed the door.. it was funny.
Later that day, we also contacted a kid who was YSA age and the whole time we were talking to him he was hiding behind the door so that you could only see one of his eyes poking out, so that was an interesting conversation too.. 😅😂
But, it was a fun week and a lot of other random things happened too but that's all that I can really think of for now. We have a lot of appointments set up for this next week so hopefully it's a good one! We'll see! 😁😉

Until next time,
Sister Wilcox

P.S. Here's a picture of Sister Hood (Sister Millington's greenie), Sister Millington (my MTC comp and Sister Sanders' greenie back in the day), Sister Sanders, Sisters Adams (Sister Sanders' and I's greenie together), me, Sister Bradshaw (my other greenie back in the day), and Sister Brooks (Sister Bradshaw's greenie).... complicated, right? 😁🤔😊

Week 45: Transfers!

Today's transfers, so there isn't a lot of time to write because we're crazy busy, but it's been another good week!
A lot of little miracles happened, but one of my favorites that I'll put in here is on Sunday we were at church (of course) when a man walked up that has two sons, ages 11 and 13, that haven't been baptized yet because of family circumstances and church activity, and we had visited them in their home before but nothing really came of it. But, on Sunday, he came up to us and said, "Sisters, I want you to help my sons become baptized," so we went over right after church and taught them and set up a time to come back, and it's cool to see how the Lord really will either send us to find those being prepared or He'll help them find us!
The work if His and His tender mercies are over all those whom He hath chosen because of their faith- When we're on the Lord's errand, we're entitled to His help. I think those are both paraphrased, but I have to go now, so here are some pics from the week! Enjoy! 😊👍
Love,
Sister Wilcox

Week 44: More Miracles :)

This week has been another good one! We are done with exchanges but have been going on lunch dates with each set of Sisters to get to know them each better and to keep in touch with them, so it's been a lot of fun! They're all super awesome.
And, we've been promised time and time again that Sister Sanders and I will stay together another transfer (that's our hope!!!!) but just this past week we found out 15 (15!!!) new Sisters are coming in the mission next week (4 visa-waiters), so we might have to train, simply because EVERYONE is going to be training! It's crazy! Between the Sisters who are already halfway through training from last transfer and those who are going to train the 11 new Sisters this transfer, and then adding the 4 visa-waiting Sisters, there's simply not enough Sisters left to have all of the STL's not train. So, life might get crazy.. we'll see. President said he'll try his best to keep us together, but his hands are a little tied. 🤔 Whatever's the Lord's will, I guess. 😅🙄

Also, we've been praying to find a new investigator in one of our wards that doesn't have a lot going on in it right now, and yesterday we were in Ward Council and they invited us to go to a lesson with some of the priests who are leaving for their missions soon who have been practicing teaching this family that it turns out the husband isn't a member and while we were there we were able to talk to him about the Book of Mormon and he committed to read it again (he's tried to before and wasn't interested at the time but as he felt the spirit yesterday he had an interest again) and it was a tender mercy to be able to finally reach our goal to have at least one person we're teaching in each of our wards! And to find someone who the Lord's been preparing for us to help (the priests leave next week for their missions, so we'll be teaching them from here).

Also, a boy in another ward bore his testimony on how he and some LDS buddies went camping with one of their non-member friends and they all started talking about the Plan of Salvation as the friend had some questions and now they've been studying the Book of Mormon together and want us to come and help answer some more questions he has! Youth are awesome and so central to hastening the Lord's work!

And all the other people we're teaching are progressing right now still and doing well, so the work is going awesome as we're trying our best to do the Lord's will!

Great week of miracles!
Love you all,
Sister Wilcox

Throwback pics of our great companionship b/c it might die soon :((

Week 43: What we did this busy week.

We had another great week this week. I feel like so much happens every week, I'm not even sure what to put in here, but here's a day by day..

Monday: It wasn't our p-day because we had the temple trip the next day, so I think I already updated you on what happened last Monday in an email on Tuesday..

Tuesday: We got to go to the Meridian temple again! It was so great 😊

Wednesday: We went on exchanges with Sisters Tuku and Saunders, and, because Sister Tuku just got her appendix out this past Tuesday, I stayed in with her as she healed.. it was a restful day 😊👍

Thursday: We had a great district meeting and then afterwards had the thought to go to our lesson with Betty half an hour early, so (unsure why) we did. Then, when we pulled up, a member that lives across the street was angrily sorting things into bins outside in the hot sun alone. So, we walked up and asked if she needed help and she said she was moving and the people who promised to help her never showed up so she'd been packing alone all day and we were able to help her and she calmed down as she talked with us and we shared a message about how He's aware of her and she started crying and said we were an answer to her prayers. 😊💛 Tender mercy to be used to bless His children unexpectedly! Then, we had a really good lesson with Betty right after!

Friday: We had exchanges with the Hermanas and I got to go to their area, and pretty much just sat there as all of the Spanish lessons were being given, lol. But it was super funny because one of the families in their ward was moving the next day so they went to say goodbye to them and the family (the other Sisters came back over to say goodbye, too, so Sister Sanders and I were together again during the hour), although they know a bit of English, didn't want to talk to us in it, so instead they just made fun of us the whole time in Spanish (naturally) and we had no idea what they were saying. They were funny though. 😂 Then, when we exchanged back, we got a text from Sister Tuku asking if we could get something from Walmart for her and, although it wasn't Monday, we wanted to help her so we went. While there, we were approached by a man who said he was a recent convert to the church and he had been trying to contact his bishop because he had questions that were unsettling to him about some things he'd heard and we were able to go to the Burger King that was attached to the Walmart and say a prayer with him and answer his questions as guided by the Spirit, and it was cool to see how the Lord guided us to him as we were just seeking to help people in whatever way we could. He inspired our thoughts and guided our path to help His other children we didn't even realize would be there or be in need!

Saturday: We made cookies and dropped them off at people's houses to contact them and it was a lot of fun, and at one house we've been trying to contact for a while a huge black man opened the door on the third knock and said quickly in a really low voice, "My name's Clyde." We both jumped because we didn't think anyone would answer. It was funny. He was cool though, so that was good.

Sunday: We had church all day long again and everyone just kept giving us granola bars until we felt sick (because we were starving and that was all the food they had). Then, we had another good lesson with Deanna, our new investigator from last Sunday who we're studying the Book of Mormon with.

I know that the Lord knows us all and He knows what we're all going through and what we need, and He does provide- especially when we ask in faith- because His work and His glory is to bring to pass our immortality and eternal life. Our Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus Christ love you so much! Don't forget it!

Have a great week!
Sister Wilcox 😁✌💛
